DIYπŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸ”§: Replacing MacBook Pro πŸ’» Battery

Recently, the battery life on my πŸ’» MacBook Pro dropped to just 2 hours, with the battery condition now showing “Service Recommended.” My MacBook Pro 13″ (2018) had its battery replaced at the Apple Genius Bar just before the 3-year warranty expired, so the current battery has only lasted 2 years.

Since my MacBook Pro is now out of warranty, I decided to buy a third-party battery and replace it myself, saving me from the SGD 900+ cost of an official replacement. The new battery cost about SGD 80 and took around 3 weeks to arrive from JD.com.

It looks good and came with all the necessary tools like grooves, screwdrivers, glue remover and manual with photos. πŸ‘

The replacement process was pretty easy and smooth. Just follow the steps in the provided manual carefully, one by one. The only tricky part was removing the old battery pack from the MacBookβ€”the glue was quite strong. You need to use the tools provided and work slowly and carefully. After that, the rest of the steps are straightforward. Once you’ve replaced the battery, remember to test it before reinstalling the back cover.
